Great Basilica of Morgran

The main temple of the faith of Morgran, this massive basilica is located in the dwarven city of Gel Morgran. It is a six-tiered ziggurat carved into and partially sticking out of the cavern walls in the underground city. Each tier is roughly 30 feet tall, for an overall height of nearly 200 feet.
The uppermost tier is not accessible from the outside and contains the temple's reliquary. Artifacts related to Morgran and various saints are kept under round-the-clock guard here and are only accessible to a handful of priests. The next level under that is the priests' living quarters, with a variety of setups including bunk rooms for lower-level priests and a larger, more ornate room for the High Priest. Below that is the ritual floor, where a variety of different sized rooms are available for ceremonies and rituals the citizens ask of the priests. From smaller marriages to christenings and even some legal agreements, the ritual floor has a space for it all. The bottom three tiers are actually one large main chamber for the large religious services. This cavernous chamber features three tiers of pews or standing room around the perimeter, plus more sitting room on the ground floor. The higher pew areas, as well as the ritual floor and priests' quarters, are accessible by stairs and ramps on the ziggurat exterior. Between the seating accommodations inside and the acoustics that allow a speaker's voice to reach the exterior ramps and stairs, the basilica can hold a maximum crowd of around 26,000 people - nearly half of the city's population- and does so several times a year for major holidays or important religious gatherings.
