Fort Lorentz (lor-ehnt-z)

Named for King Ott XIV's youngest child and second son, this fortified town is part of the Oestbernia Northern Forts. It is the central town of the five and plays a crucial role in communication between the forts and routing reinforcements when necessary. It is largest of the five forts in terms of area, with many inns and temporary housing for soldiers moving back and forth among the five towns.
Fort Lorentz is located where the plains meet the Northern Forest, so the civilians here are engaged in a variety of industries including farming and foresting. The forest also provides cover for some raiders and attackers, and Fort Lorentz has come closest to being overrun of all five towns when a large force sneaked through the forest and attacked without warning in 790 2A. Since that time, the town has employed more rangers to scout the pass between Lorentz and Fort Brida. As one of the towns closest to the Stones of Olmytria, Fort Lorentz sees its fair share of travelers going between the southern parts of Oestbernia and the tundra.
