High Rollin'
General Summary
The party recovers from their encounters with the water elemental and water weirds. After a short rest, the party continues down the other path.
The cave ends in a drop and on the bottom they see a large mushroom with Chawingas bouncing on them like it's a trampoline. Purah sends Pygmy down there and the Chwingas try to grab it but their hands move through. She commands Pygmy to fly back up and take the third branch.
Sandor is attacked by weird plant creatures that sprout from ferns, Deku Babas. Brandeth used her Charm Plants Channel Divinity and all but one are charmed. They quickly take care of the last one and go on.
The cave leads into a downward winding natural staircase that's covered in vines. They lose track of direction and suddenly the hallway starts moving on its own. Some fall down, while others barely keep their balance. They are split up as the moving vines transport them further down the cave.
The 2 groups both make their way through winding caves and encounter a weird plant. it has grown around a skeleton and shoots poisonous darts.
The groups end up on opposite sides of a group of ferns that sprout more Deku babas, but these are bigger. Pygmy gets swallowed whole and will have to be repaired.
After the Deku Babas are taken care of they look further down the cave and can see part of the big black cube in a body of water...
