Ratchet

Ratchet Rodney Senna

Ratchet (born Rodney Senna in Midgar, Earenal, age 29) is a level 5 human rogue thief, and is part of the campaign's party as one of two rogue characters. He is most recognizable by his rather noticeable bright blonde hair, which often makes his appearance very apparent. Ratchet is rather lengthy at almost two meters, which makes him one of the party's taller members. Despite his tough history and alignment, he is not considered wrathful. Ratchet is illiterate, but makes up for it in athletic skill and stealth.

Story

Born in the slums of Midgar, Ratchet quickly grew into the craft of thievery due to the low wages of his parents, who quickly let him fetch for himself. As there were rarely any schools in the lowest of Midgar's levels (Sector 0), Ratchet got most of his knowledge off of the streets, as well as skills: he managed to grow tall because of his agile reflexes and speed, which made him comparably well nourished compared to other slum citizens. At a young age, Ratchet was recruited by AVALANCHE to try to overthrow the Starrick Corporation running the city as it's ultimate goal, along with his childhood best friend Cloud Strife. Along with Barrett Wallace and Cloud, he eventually ran into a party who was out for a similar goal. Ratchet joined up with this party, of which Purah Owlridge and Fleeting Wind joined him until current events into another group of adventurers.   The name he is known by today, was given to him after a certain chain of events occurred back in his youth. A certain day, several citizens were in a quarrel with a superior officer of the clockwork army, who attempted to collect vastly more taxes from the poor slum inhabitants, at a different time than usual. This led to believe that the officer was collecting bribes for personal reasons. The word spread quickly, and before the officer was able to leave with large quantities of valued items, he was awaited at the gateways to the upper levels by Rodney. He was furious, and engaged combat with the clockwork officer with many people standing aside in fear. The exact details of the fight were lost by word of mouth, however, it was apparent that it only lasted several seconds before the guard was fully incapacitated. He'd apparently shut down the clockwork guard by rapidly jumping over the large entity, and on the rebound, quickly jamming the gears inside the guard's bodywork by inserting a tool he'd only just acquired mid-air from a mechanic's toolkit, who was standing just outside his workshop beside where the fight took place.

Personality

Ratchet is a friendly human, unlike his alignment would assume. Often not convinced by his own skillset, he often cracks a joke whenever someone shows his trust in him. It does not make him untrustworthy though: he wouldn't quickly break a promise. Even for a thief, he is sometimes a little soft, often being triggered by fellow rogue Flind to actually do a thieving act.

Appearance

A common appearance is his brown AVALANCHE outfit, excluding the spectacles and usually with the hood off, as it proves to be difficult to have his hair below the hood. The bright blonde strands of hair sometimes seem to light up in direct sunlight, and in a state of extreme anger, it can even turn slightly red. His appearance is often noticed first in a large group of people, but oddly enough he excels in steal moves.
