Avesta

247 years ago, a group of people of different races appeared on an island with no memories of their life. One half-elf, Alxiron Avesta, took charge and united the races in a council with 1 member of every race. The high elves were a tough nut to crack, since they think of themselves as better than everyone else, but, ultimately, they saw it was in their best interest. Eventually, Avesta became king after a few years. After getting a town up with a harbor, they started building ships to find a way out. They didn't find one, but they found other islands to live on. Today, the different races live on their own islands, though 2 cities are mixed: The capital city of Avestaer (where The First appeared) and the recently-gone-rogue city of Tortuga (now the hometown of all the pirates, or rather, 'The Free Men'.) Most people have given up on returning to the world from which their ancestors came. Short-living races, like Humans, feel perfectly at home in this world, since they have always lived here. Long-living, like the Elves, are still trying to uncover the world's secrets, as they know this is not their birthplace.
