Elf

Most of the Elven peoples live in the large forests of Avenaria. Not much is known about the Elves, and the wars that they have fought with the humans over the lands around the forest are legendary. Still, some of the Elven leaders, and their people realize that the humans are destined to play a larger part in the lands, and that the Elves must learn to live with them, if not in harmony, then at least with some sort of truce.
The wars with humankind have taken their toll on the longer lived race, and the relatively few births within an elven enclave in any given year lead to speculation that the race is in decline, or dying out completely. The truth is hidden by the elves, and only a select few, even among the elves know for sure. There are more than enough elves to protect their borders, which they do with ferocity and zeal that convinces those fighting against them that the elves are legion.

Despite their warlike nature, elves are responsible for some of the greatest and most delicate works of art in Avenaria. The length of their lives leads to an innate patience allowing them to coax natural elements to bend and shape over a great length of time. Those that actually get to spend time with the elves soon realize that a good deal of their time is given over to the arts, and magic.

Social Structure

The elven nations are generally ruled by a council for each enclave.

Facial characteristics

Elven faces tend to be narrow, and angular, accentuated by long pointed ears. Their eyes are large and almond shaped, with deeply colored irises, that have very little white around them.

Common Dress Code

Elves dress in a way that blends harmoniously with the natural surroundings. When they are seen in human lands, they dress in regal flowing robes.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Elves think little of humans, treating them as parasites. Their relation with the Dwarves is only slightly better, with each believing the other okay as long as they don't see them. The propensity to shoot first, and ask questions later, or never typifies their relations with most other races.

Skin color ranges from pale skinned to nut brown. Hair colors range, but most often mirror the colors of the forest. Human myth states that the elves hair changes with the changing seasons.
