Shale spends more than 2 months on the ocean with the crew she hired. The journey is treacherous, but the crew is capable. In order to save the time that Shale requested, the captain and crew agree to Entreat the King...

Over the course of the journey, the crew manages to Ride the Blue twice successfully, shaving days off the journey. Confident in their abilities, the Captain rallies his sailors and convinces them to push their third attempt all the way to Riding the Green.   It is during this attempt that things became more turbulent than any of the crew expected. During the struggle, Shale stumbles while attempting to secure Dodogama and causes the ship's druid's Sea Shrine to tumble and shatter. Enraged at this affront to the gods in such a time, the Druid forgets himself and lunges at Shale. He is intercepted by a protective Dodogama and bitten fiercly on the leg. He lunges at Shale who pushes him back, aiming not to hurt him; but a strong wave from the violent waters rocks the boat at the same time and the Druid goes tumbling off the ship, immediately lost to the churn.   The rest of the trip sees Shale and Dodogama sequestered to the Hold for the crew's, and their own, safety.
