Many Priestess even rule their own clan and take on male spouses to push their agendas through the Counsel of Elders. While this gives the Priestess great power it also protects them from political fallout if their proposals fail as they hide behind their spouse/puppet and let them take the fall.
Most Noble families are large due to the leaders male or female take on 3-4 spouses as well as any number of so called political lovers. Many noble families have men in the government and women in the church. All children and siblings belong to the same clan and when the leader dies there are often many assassinations or duels to choose the new family leader

Common Etiquette Rules
All Elves view nature as sacred. To be kosher with Elven tradition any time a part of nature is killed or used in any way the whole thing must be used. For example when hunting every part of the animal must be eaten or used in another manner just as bone tools or jewelry. When plants like trees are harvested even the roots must be used in some way. Many artisans use tree and plant roots for sculptures. In Suna Garte and Avalon this tradition is often over looked. However the Numenai take this very seriously.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
They love to study magic and how nature works
High Elves are almost obsessed with cleanliness and order and adore art in all its forms. This has made them some of the most famous builders and jewelers.
Most High Elves do not adventure far from their country unless otherwise ordered to by a guild or noble family though recently more and more High Elf adventurers have left their valley to prove they can adventure just like the other races.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Due to long life spans most High Elves stay in school and at home until they turn 30. Then they are set out to pursue their own goals as well as the goals of their clan. Those seeking to take the somewhat disdained path of the adventurer often leave in their 20s as they are fed up with school.
Common Taboos
Elves are a very loose society when it comes to sexuality with their only sexual taboos involving parent child relations and relations with animals.
High Elves value cleanliness and anyone who is sick is quarantined inside special "Ospice" chambers in homes. Those too poor to afford said chamber place their sick into special ghettos located outside the cities. Elven diplomats will refuse to speak with anyone that looks dirty.
History
The first Elven division happened during Aryan captivity when those who willingly gave themselves to the Aryans beds were cursed by the Elven Elders to have dark purplish skin. It was designed to make them less attractive to Aryan eyes. While this happened somewhat it largely make the Drow more popular among the Aryans as they were seen as exotic due the purple tint in their skin.
The second division happened after Aryan Captivity. Once free to choose their own destinies the Elves had a hard time deciding what path they should take. Some chose to seek a path of domination. Believing it was their destiny and right to rule the world. These Elves called themselves the High Elves and settled in the Suna Garte Valley. Others wanted to settle with the other races and live in harmony with them. However the High Elves forbade them stating if they would not go to Suna Garte they would be disowned by their people for betraying their Elven blood. In disgust these rebel Elves took upon themselves the name Blood Elves and used magic to turn their hair shades of red and orange.
During this time of strife and transition a few hundred Elves left both camps being disgusted with the behavior of their brethren. These Elves chose to live a nomadic life with the Centaurs or alone in the forests. These 'wild' Elves became known as the Numenai.
At first High Elves lived in near total seclusion in what once was Heber Valley which they renamed Suna Garte or Sun Garden. However shortly after their nation was started a great civil war broke out as the cult of the Lady tried to grasp power. After the bloody conflict spilled over into other nations the new King was forced to open his nation's boundaries. With this news a couple Centaur nomad heards, Lowe and Human families moved in looking for new opportunities. However the largest group to move in was the Tonve who moved almost half of their entire race into the Elven nation now known as Suna Kinorsca.
Common Myths and Legends
The truth is Elvish was created by Aryan students as a final project with the most popular being voted on by Set and the Aryan professors. The Aryan student Gremnor Hindle (a close friend of Wilhelm Hoffman) created the Elvish language in a single night as he had procrastinated starting his assignment until the night before it was due. While most accept this as truth the High Elves see this as Norden propaganda designed to undermine Elven authority.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
5' 6" Female
Elven hair tones come in all colors of the rainbows. No one is quite sure how the Aryans accomplished this. Metallic hair colors are only seen in the High Elves with gold and silver being the most common.
