Aurelia - Demiplane
Aurelia is a large demiplane within the cosmos. Its form is a perfect sphere. The demiplane was formed a bit more than 5000 years ago. During this time the demiplane has been affected by many different deities and immigrants from other planes to form an extremely diverse and dynamic world that is constantly changing.
Its overall geography has changed very little since its creation and remains fairly stable with a few exceptions. The geography can be separated into four very different regions that have limited connections with each other most of the time due to their differences, the distances and natural barriers between them. The borders between the two oceans are not clearly defined and the waters connecting them are sometimes known by other names.
Floating Islands
In the sky of Aurelia is the Sun and the Floating Islands. These islands are suspended in the air with divine power by Saria. The floating islands are home to various civilizations of dragons, giants and humanoids.Surface
The equator of the sphere is the sea level within the sphere. There is one large continent, two smaller ones a number of islands and one massive ocean.Aurelia
The largest continent of the demiplane and the known under the same name. It occupies a third of the surface and is split into seven different regions that are claimed by various societies rules by dragons, giants, undead and some humanoids. Aurelia covers the north-western section of the surface.Terila
A smaller continent close to the center of the demiplane. The continent is about half the size of Aurelia and much more tropical in large parts of it. It is south-east from the center point of the sphere.Ogurea
A continent on the southern border of the demiplane. It is much smaller than Aurelia.Phendros Ocean
An ocean that covers the south-western surface of the demiplane. It is a fairly calm and shallow ocean with many islands and archipalgos. The ocean is largely dominated by some aquatic, some ampbhibious and some land dwelling civilizations.Karkos Ocean
Is a very deep and wild ocean. There are almost no islands and very few ships travel this expanse as there is nothing to be gained from doing so. The floor of Karkos Ocean is covered by various underwater dwelling civilizations and home to many powerful leviathans.Underdark
Below the surface is a world of its own. Below Aurelia is the Underdark with its own cultures and societies that have formed there. There is limited connections to the surface itself through a number of tunnels. Under Terila and Ogure there are no massive caverns that would form a space for civilizations to thrive.Parallel Dimensions
The demiplane features two parallel dimensions the Shadowfell and the Feywild. Both of these dimensions mirror the primary dimension in its physical makup, but have their own metaphyiscal reality.The Shell
The shell of the demiplane separates the interior from whatever is beyond it. It is not possible to penetrate this shell with anything, no matter how powerful. When arriving at this border from the inside any creature does not walk into a invisible wall. Instead they continue to walk as if it is not there, but will quickly realize when they look back that they are not actually advancing at all. When looking through this wall any creature can see similar geography as beyond to about 1 km. After that things start to blur and become covered in a thick fog.
