Isharim Seraphate
Monsters will always exist. There's one inside each of us. But an angel lives there, too. There is no more important agenda than figuring out how to slay one and nurture the other.
Structure
As in many religious organizations, there is a hierarchy within the Seraphate, a chain of command that is to be obeyed lest one wishes to be branded a heretic. The state can be roughly broken down into three distinct branches, all of which ultimately answer to the Hierophant: The Ecclesia Divina, The Seraphic Order, and The Ordo Inquisitorum. The Ecclesia Divina is the order of clergy dedicated to the religious functions of the theocracy itself, while the Seraphic Order is the righteous and militarized right arm of the state, and the Ordo Inquisitorum is the Seraphate's inquisition bound to maintain theocratic obedience.
Ecclesia Divina
There are four positions within the Divina that answer only to the Hierophant and the High Pontiff, those being: the station of High Pontiff itself, and the Archclerics of the Sacred Word, Covenant, and Everflame. The High Pontiff oversees doctrine and religious scripture, and is second only to the Hierophant himself. An Archcleric of the Sacred Word is responsible for priestly training, theology, and that maintaining of religious texts. Those that find themselves becoming an Archcleric of the Covenant will oversee diplomatic relations with other nations and the religious bureaucracy within the Seraphate. Finally, the Archcleric of the Everflame is responsible for conducting ceremonies, sacred sites, and major religious events within the nation.Seraphic Order
