The Woodman's Arms

A well looked after tavern/inn.
It has been in the same family for generations and is the oldest tavern in town.   Before the large entrance door is a small seating area with a few tables and chairs, above the door is a wooden sign with a sturdy axe depicted and the name of the tavern "The Woodman's Arms" .     When one enters through the oak door, one can see in the corner near the counter a large hearth with the head of a stag mounted above it, its fire does a great job at keeping the tavern and its patrons nice and warm. The hearth has never had its flame go out since the first time it was lit in 586. One can often see a large cast iron pot with todays stew or soup cooking over the fire which fills the air with a smell of simple but tasty food.   The tables and chairs are old but still in great condition, made out of sturdy hardwood.     A door next to the counter leads upstairs to the rooms that are rented out to travellers and merchants.
The door behind the counter leads to the kitchen where great amounts of food and alcohol are stored.   Outside is a small stable attached to the side of the tavern where merchants and travellers can rest their horses for the night. One can often see a hired guard making his rounds through and around the stables to make sure no horse thief makes off with the customers expensive animals during the night.     The staff is made up of the owner Horst, his wife Paris, five barmaids: Ivy, Helen, Amber, Irene and Jenna who work alternating and sometimes overlapping shifts, and the stable boy Neville who is the son of Horst and Paris.
