The War of Old
The war of old is part of the ancient conflict between Annotii and Svimalin, though it can be called a new war for all intents and purposes as the old conflict merely consisted of a few skirmishes here and there, where as this new war is developing into a proper war set out to conquer one another.
The army of Annotii is called Annotii Verdan.
The army of Svimalin is called Barwri A Svimalin.
The forces of Svimalin gathered near Kazad Dok and on the 18th of April 1005 began moving to the eastern border, spreading out to cover a wider area from north to south along the border.
Goat cavalry was used to scout ahead. The forces of Annotii began moving several days earlier and were moving towards the border with the intent to push through and regroup in dwarven territory. Before leaving the safety of their forest, they would use wood elf archers as scouts to see if the dwarves were ready for them. 29th of April 1005
The forces of Svimalin were approaching the eastern border, using parts of their goat cavalry to scout ahead. The various divisions have spread out and were a few days apart now.
Barwri A Svimalin Division 1 and the Blue Rose Mercenaries were heading towards the middle of the eastern border, not too far north of Osten Karak. The forces of Annotii had crossed the border by this point. Their mages using their magic to conceal their troops, making it incredibly difficult to spot them from afar. Having no opposition at this point they made camp for a day to finalize their strategic talks between the various divisions.
They then spread out, leaving a few days travel between their divisions as they make their way towards the heart of Karak Lok. 1st of Mai 1005
Barwri A Svimalin Division 1 and Efil-Darlioth were on a collision course. The elves hidden by their magic moved unseen, the dwarves were spotted by the wood elf scouts giving Efil-Darlioth time to get ready.
Eventually the two forces fought. As is expected of any good dwarf king, once the amount of orders that needed to be given was fairly low, he began fighting among his front line, strongly boosting the morale of his troops, his adamantine armour making him almost invincible.
The magic of the elves was debilitating and caused a fair amount of damage, however the dwarves having higher quality armour and weapons, being more experienced than these elves and the dwarves high morale allowed them to whittle down the elves.
After losing almost half of their units, the elves decide to fall back and retreat.
Having encountered an elven army here on dwarven soil was unexpected, so couriers are being dispatched from Division 1 to the other divisions to warn them and have them fall back to the original meeting point near Kazad Dok. 2nd of Mai 1005
Amizoa Aniye and Blue Rose Mercenaries clashed only a day away from the battlefield of Efil-Darlioth and Barwri A Svimalin Division 1.
The elves used their magic to greatly enhance their troops, openly marching towards the human mercenaries.
The human mercenaries could tell these elves are veteran troops, even though they outnumber the elves by a small amount this could be a tough battle.
The forces clashed, Commander Bernhardt of the human mercenaries used a strategy that he often used against dangerous foes, however the magic of the elves and their thousands of years of experience among each individual made this a battle that could not be won.
After taking many casualties, Commander Bernhardt gave the order to retreat. The elves used their magic to ensnare the running soldiers and killed them all, only allowing the commander to flee. 7th of Mai 1005
The dwarf division Barwri A Svimalin Division 1 led by King Rathspori Hilldeguard clashed with the elf division Amizoa Aniye south of the Lohf Durak mountains.
The elves were superior in terms of experience, this was an elite division with members that have thousands of years of experience, coupled with their powerful magic they deployed they defeated the dwarves. Many dwarves died and the order to retreat was given, however the elves took many casualties themselves.
The dwarves are pulling back to the capital, the elves used their magic to heal their wounded and are now in pursuit of the dwarves.
The other dwarven divisions, except for division 2 who's messenger was caught and killed by elven scouts in Grobigaz forest when he travelled through it, received the message to fall back towards the capital as the elves are already deep in the kingdoms territory. 14th of Mai 1005
The dwarven division led by Princess Nomi Hilldeguard, Barwri A Svimalin Division 2 never received the message that was sent via courier from Division 1 so stayed on its original course.
Close to the eastern border, Barwri A Svimalin Division 2 spotted the retreating elven division Efil-Darlioth, caught up with them and after a short battle annihilated them. Only a few survivors managed to get away.
At this point, the elven divisions Eddu-Alu and Isalt-Lecai managed to avoid any dwarven divisions on their way to the dwarven capital. They are now less than a week away. 21st of Mai 1005
The dwarven division Barwri A Svimalin Division 1 that was retreating and being pursued by the elven division Amizoa Aniye has arrived at Kazad Dok and are treating their wounded. Amizoa Aniye has began laying siege to Kazad Dok. 25th of Mai 1005
The elven division Amizoa Aniye destroyed the gate of Kazad Dok and assaulted the mountain home.
The local garrison and the remaining part of Barwri A Svimalin Division 1 led by King Rathspori Hilldeguard valiantly defended the mountain home, the dwarves took heavy loses but so did the elves who have withdrawn from their their assault for the moment. 26th of Mai 1005
The two elven divisions Eddu-Alu led by King Aderthion Morfess and Isalt-Lecai led by Commander Calus Sevir have arrived at the gates of the dwarven capital Kazad Kol and are laying siege to it.
28th of Mai 1005
The dwarven divisions Barwri A Svimalin Division 5 and Barwri A Svimalin Division 9 are on their way to Kazad Dok and only a couple days away from it now.
The dwarven division Barwri A Svimalin Division 2 led by Princess Nomi Hilldeguard after not receiving any word from anyone decided to head to Kazad Valdahaz, use the ungdrin and head to Kazad Dok.
The elven division Arotha-Avalu has stepped onto dwarven soil.
The dwarven division Barwri A Svimalin Relief Division 1 has marched out from Durak Duraz towards the capital. 29th of Mai 1005
The elves began their assault on Kazad Kol. They were winning however, for some mysterious reason they pulled out and began retreating back to their lands. Only time will tell what the reason for this was. 5th of August
Due to Varinor-Kenui causing untold destruction in Annotii and the losses of Annotii's military forces, King Aderthion Morfess saw no alternative other than to surrender in a bid to save his people from total annihilation. Annotii was allowed to remain as is but King Adertion Morfess was to become a prisoner and personal stepping stool of King Rathspori Hilldeguard; A degrading position to be in but he agreed out of love for his people.
The war ended in Svimalin's victory.
