The Battle for Willingen

After landing many forces on the eastern side of the island, Esktria decided to assault the town of Willingen rather than besiege it as time is of the essence.

The Conflict

Conditions

It was late in the evening with a clear sky above when the assault was launched.

The Engagement

The forces of Esktria assaulted the town from the east, utilizing battering rams to break open the gate and trebuchets to damage the walls and towers. Once the gate was opened, Men at arms fought their way through the town guard with ease. With levies behind them as back up and to cover any flanks.
The town guard was heavily outnumbered and didn't last very long.

Outcome

The town was taken by the forces of Esktria. The town was only looted of food to sustain the army, and the remaining citizens that didn't resist or flee weren't harmed. This order was agreed upon and given by both Sir Andrew Richtersfield and Sir Damien Willows. Main reason being that the town was to be conquered and become part of Esktria and as such shouldn't draw any unnecessary ire of the people here.

Aftermath

The town is being occupied by a force of 300 soldiers from each army.
