The Assault of Alfalya

After heading through the war tunnel that was dug in preparation of this offensive, the dwarves blew open the entrance a only half an hours walk from Alfalya.
This army was being led by Skafar Grom.

The Conflict

Prelude

Having sent the vast majority of their forces to meet the dwarves in another battle, not knowing about this tunnel the city of Alfalya now was with only the bare minimum of its militia.
The dwarves brought along a lot of siege equipment and as many soldiers as they could spare to assault the city and take it as quickly as possible while they had the upper hand.

Deployment

The militia of Alfalya manned their walls and towers ready to hold off the dwarves.
The dwarven army gathered outside the tunnel exit, preparing their siege equipment and then headed towards the city.

Battlefield

The battlefield was the city of Alfalya.

Conditions

It was cold and cloudy day.

The Engagement

The dwarves deployed their siege equipment and breached the walls in under an hour.
The elves tried to defend the walls with arrows and their ballistas on their walls but this caused only minor problems to the dwarves. A group of elven blade dancers was discovered to have damaged several pieces of siege equipment but by then it was too late to cause any difference, some of them were killed as they were fleeing after being spotted.
Upon breaching the walls, the dwarven infantry entered the city and slaughtered the elven militia, quickly taking the walls and gate.
Not long after, the dwarves started burning the city, looting it and killing any elven citizens that resisted or got in their way.
Many elves died during this.
This offensive lasted all day and night.

Outcome

The city of Alfalya was set alight and took severe damage. Many elves were killed.

Aftermath

After the fires died down the dwarves occupied the remains of the city and readied their soldiers in case the main elven army that attacked the dwarven army which walked above ground, returned to help the city. The dwarves searched for the elven King Faurdir Mellan, however he went with the army to attack the dwarves in the forest.
