Mermaid

A Mermaid (female) or Merman (male) is an intelligent aquatic creature that lives in both salt and freshwater. They possess the head and upper body of a human and the tail of a fish.   These are peaceful creatures that try to keep away from the eyes of other humanoids.   They are often mistaken for Sirens and vice versa.

Anatomy

Possesses the head and upper body of a human and the tail of a fish.   One telling difference between Sirens and Mermaids is that a Sirens tail fin is much more jagged looking compared to that of Mermaids which are more rounded off an smooth.

Genetics and Reproduction

These creature reproduce much like humans and the females even stay pregnant until 9 months.

They live in large bodies of fresh or salt water like large lakes or oceans.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They possess some level of farming knowledge, farming various underwater plants for food. These creature hunt larger fish with simple spears.
