Dwalin has been born into the warrior clan Drakk Dengri.
Being the youngest, his parents never paid too much attention to him, focusing on his older siblings instead.
This at least gave him the benefit to pursue what he liked and eventually this ended up with him becoming a miner in Kazad Kol.
His parents weren't overly thrilled about this as they wanted him to get into a profession where he could prove his martial prowess to his clan but they didn't do much to stop him as they were too busy focusing their attention on his siblings. He has three brothers and one sister, Thorin, Rathspori, Tholig, and Sigrun. He has no children but is currently engaged to a dwarf from another clan, Sedil Hirn.
