The Alingatarr
The Alingatarr
The Alingatarr are spirits who were created by Hastarrii during the Annenúrë at the very beginning of creation itself, they dwell in the halls of Míthrondas where they made the world upon the Orchamûnak. the Tarriin were the greater beings and the Istendaro were the lesser of the Melcondi. The Alingatarr were the first beings created by Tarr Erolusca at the beginning of time, before Mithrondas was created, and the great Pillar of Tarr was erected.
History
Origins
The Alingatarr came into existence when Hastarrii, seeing the clash with Urr-Eth would take his life, created gems from his body named the Orchamiri. Using these stones and his blood, he created the Alingatarr and out of Orchamûnak, his staff, he built the Halls of Míthrondas.
though he created them in his mind at first, when Tarr Erolusca with his staff Ithalune in grasp waded the eternal waters of the timeless space and cosmic nothingness. As he did so he created orbs of light alike of stars and he made many of them, light was brought to be, and so did he do the same for the skies, yet darkness surrounded none the less. He came upon a well and saw evil things and upon reaching in they slashed his hand, six drops of blood he spent, and they dropped in the well, and then he carved six gems from his heart and he mixed them in the well, and with the seventh piece he gave to Ytarrii whom he named the leader and creator in his stead. The Tarr Stone it was called, and half a heart it was, yet should it be reunited with its other pieces, Tarr shall return in full might, thus is prophesied for the end of time, when the stones return to their place.
Yet the blood of Tarr bore the Alingatarr their forms and from his mind the gems came and they bore the power of the Alingatarr, and he created them, and each was given understanding only of a particular piece of the mind of Erolusca from which they came. The exception to this was Tilanosh, the mightiest of the Alingatarr, who had wrestled with the dark things in the well as he tried to escape, and had lost the knowledge of Tarr whom had died after he gave his heart to the well. His purpose was sealed from him and he was angry and inquisitive for the rest of time.
During the discord of the dark things and the whirlpool of which the Alingatarr had escaped, yet Tilanosh had not, Erolusca instructed them in the ways of Kinva the power that he wielded and the power that gave rise to all creation. He taught them each of their roles and their duties, their responsibility, and the coming of evil, not necessarily by the hand of the dark, nor by the hands of Faldin and men alike. They each had their own power, and afterwards, when Tilanosh had finally escaped, he died and gave away his heart to Ytarrii. Ithalune had been placed in the well and a whirlpool had sprung once more as it had when they were created.
Then Tilanosh came and found his creator dead and his heart in Ytarrii’s hand, the staff had been placed in the well and the whirlpool had sprung, he was full of anger. His purpose now gone and his role never taught to him he felt outcast, so he sought the darkness for answers, and they gave it to him, though it darkened him as well.
Tilanosh discovered complete darkness, the Anornauglum. He dwelled in it for long ages learning and festering in the secrets none should know, the cruel whispers of the Agothagrim, the Atûmavol the mists with many eyes, tentacled and sharp teethed, incomprehensible and craze ridden. Through the whispering and terrible singing of the dark things he learned many secrets and lore, arts and magics, and he had betraying thoughts. He leached power from the other Alingatarr, and strove to shatter their bonds, and when the Tarr Stone was placed within the staff of Ithalune, and a great pillar was wrought, he sought to bring it down.
