Atûm
Atûm (A: “Abode or Domain”) was the first name the Tarriin gave the world as they entered it. Atûm was created within the Pillar of Hastarrii which is named the Orchamûnak. Around the Pillar is situated the Halls of Mithrondas, the dwelling place of the Alingatarr and the thrones of the Alingatarr themselves. The idea of Atûm was perfected by Ytarrii, the Leader of the Alingatarr, who had his mind bent on the “perfect” design for the world, as so many designs before had failed.
When the world was realised, Atûm was carved upon the pillar by Ytarrii, and later shaped by the Tarriin when they descended into it. The story of how Atûm was shaped can be found in greater detail in How Atûm was Forged, in short, they tore the ground and forged great mountains, oceans, seas and valleys, the winds, thunders, rains and snows fell all at once, storms tore across the landscapes, forests sprouted, animals emerged, and the stars were thrown into the sky. Light sprang into the world and banished the dark, the first realm was founded by Urrmenes, and subsequently the first city Gardelas was built, the realms of the Tarriin were shaped into the afterlives for those mortals who worshipped them.
Atûm became the home of ancient races named the proud Faladine, the resourceful humans, the crafty Lordunai and the none native giant Attanborr, who all lived alongside the mighty Tarriin and Istenari, of which the latter govern under the mandate of the Alingatarr. When the Tarriin left the world to reside in their realms and watch over the dead, they gave their divine authority to the Istenari, who ruled with all their power and command over the forces of nature. Tasked with maintaining the world and fulfilling their functions of keeping the darkness at bay, one race of the Istenari would remain faithful to the order of the Tarriin, the other would rebel.
Wars have been fought and ended, treaties were signed, blood has been spilt, life has flourished and suffered, kingdoms have risen and fallen, evil has emerged and won, and good has been defeated but remained steadfast.
