The father of Axel Webb, Lukas Webb is a drow industrialist who runs Silken Webb Enterprises, a lucrative spider silk business and a web of spider silk factories. He is also quietly a supporter of the fascist Kytonian Ecclesiarchy in the Mutnemarta, the shadow city. A mesmerist with interest in the occult, Lukas periodically writes to his son requesting a meeting with Axel's employer at the Arkham Caine Museum of the Occult.
Family Ties
The Webb family are not one of the main Drow Syndicates of the Underside, and even the Serica Syndicate that Lukas secretly supports (note his middle name) was considered "small time" and "unimportant" by the Black Marrow Altar.
Lukas was more than a hundred years older than his human wife, Carlotta Webb when he married her. And by Drow standard, his only son, Axel Webb is practically a toddler. This may go some way towards explaining why he seems to view Axel as a wayward child who, given time, can still be brought back into the fold of Lukas's self-made dynasty.
