Atraea (uh-TRAY-uh)
Goddess of Order, Healing, The Sun, and the Earth.
Atraea is the primary deity worshipped in Atraeleon and is considered the creator of the world and all its inhabitants. She is often depicted as a beautiful woman with golden hair and radiant eyes, and her symbol is a sunburst with eight rays. Atraea is associated with light, warmth, and life-giving energy, and her worshipers often pray to her for blessings of prosperity, fertility, and protection. According to Atraelian mythology, Atraea created the world and all its creatures by singing a powerful song that brought everything into being. She is said to have imbued the world with her own essence, infusing it with the light and warmth of the sun. Atrae is also credited with creating the first intelligent beings, whom she taught to hunt and build, and whom she watches over to this day. Atraea is often seen as a kind and merciful deity, who values compassion and generosity. However, she is also a fierce warrior when necessary, and is said to have fought against powerful demons and other malevolent creatures in the distant past. Many Atraelians believe that Atraea continues to watch over the world and intervene when necessary, using her divine powers to aid her followers and defeat her enemies. Atraea's holy day is celebrated on the summer solstice, when the sun is at its highest point in the sky. This day is marked by feasting, dancing, and the lighting of bonfires, and is considered a time of great joy and celebration. Atraea's temples are often built in high places, such as mountaintops or hill forts, where they can catch the first rays of the morning sun.
