Celestia
Celestia is a plane located within the Astral Sea.
Geography
Celestia has a large variety of geographic features but it is a plane largely dominated by rolling hills and spotted forests. There are no major bodies of water located on this plane but several rivers run across its wide span with waters originating from the elemental Plane of Water. The grasses that cover the landscape glow slightly as well as the other vegetation giving every a slight gold look.
Ecosystem
The plane of Celestia is largely dominated by Celestials as the main form of life. Creatures here have been influenced by the powerful radiating magic of the gods enhancing their power and ferocity. As there are no major bodies of water any aquatic organism reside in the rivers running through typically originating from the elemental Plane of Water therefore elementals can also be found in the water ways. The forests are inhabitanted by a large array of celestials that resemble the beasts typically found on the Material Plane.
Ecosystem Cycles
The plane seems to be in a unchanging state of spring that keeps consistent temperatures and weather patterns, therefore the life on this plane is constantly active and on the hunt for food. However, a strange cycle which seems to align with the celebration of the gods in the city of Orinos , known as the Horns of Ananias causes blasts of celestial energies to radiate out across the plane, from the Gyre of Divinity, sending the local fauna into a breeding frenzy which also seems to increase their aggression.
Localized Phenomena
The several portals to the elemental plane of water seemly randomly increase their flow and size causing slight floods and unpredictable water speeds making navigation by waterways harder than normal.
A portal to the Shadowfell has plagued the area of the Elysian Plains causing undead to spill into the region.
Fissures of radiant energy open in across the plane causing increased amount of heat and ferocity of local wildlife.
Fauna & Flora
Celestia is largely inhabitted by celestials that take various forms across the plane. Radiant energies seem to have transformed the local wildlife as well as humanoids causing them to become much more powerful. There also seems to be a large elemental presence across the waterways of Celestia.
The plants have a golden look to them as they glow giving off a slight amount of magical energy.
Natural Resources
The celestial energies that have influenced almost every living thing within the plane has caused everything to be of quite some value to the magical community as components for spells and magical devices.
History
A brief history of Celestia:
The plane in the past was widely inhabitanted by a species of Humanoids which made several cities and kingdoms. In this way the plane had a very similar history to that of Aris, however, after an unknown amount of time the Angels arrived to the plane from an unknown location. Presumably the gods arrived as well but seem to reside on different demiplanes connected through the Gyre of Divinity. The angels and the gyre seems to have had a powerful effect on the local ecosystem and the local humanoids, transforming them into the race now know as the Assimar.
Tourism
Celestia is considered a holy place by many followers of any faith, however it is much more than just the City of Orinos, the Gate of Arcadia, and Mount Celestia.
The region of Elysia has a large range of beautiful sights and are much more welcoming than the angels of the region of Celestia. Many find the various portals of flowing water to be a beautiful sight as well as the glowing hilly elysian plains. Various towns in this region welcome outsiders to stay and travel through but the wilds are not so welcoming.
