First Raid Rewarding

Description

First Raid Rewarding is a tradition used by some of Atocites, to furhter promote the growth speed of their young Raiders.
Thanks to this direct support, the new generation of Raiders can become more useful for their home faster than if they would have to gather materials for their equipment themselves.   While going on their first raid, young Raiders are encouraged to take it seriously and reflect upon any lesson they learned. Via propper self-reflection and counseling, the young Raiders then settle for specific equipment within the allowed resource budget.
These young Raiders are then given the equipment for free, without any further favors being attached.   Some young Raiders are then encouraged to try the new equipment asap.
Finding out if the received items suit their style and needs helps them in case mistakes were made and further changes would be needed. Occasionally young Raiders trade their items between themselves just to try as many things as possible before settling for an option to specialize in.

Eligibility

Any child that takes part in the The Rite of Maturity is eligible for their rewards as part of the ritual.
Different Atocites take a different approach to this type of rewarding, while some extend the time during which they support their young Raiders, there are harsh Atocites that do not hold the First Raid Rewarding at all, beyond initial weapon pick.

Covering of the materials and other costs

None of the items appear out of thin air. The equipment needs to be properly crafted from resources gathered by previous Raiders.
The budget for rewards can then be either generous or barely symbolic, depending on the overall wellbeing of the Atocite and the number and skill of Raiders.   It is not uncommon for young raiders to be eager to support this tradition for the next generation. But older Raiders tend to focus on their own growth. Luckily many planners see value in this tradition and commission needed resources months ahead. Even if no Raider were to donate gathered resources for the cause, these commissions from planners would ensure at least minimal reward for everyone.
