Company of Stonemasons and Carpenters

The Company of Stonemasons and Carpenters is the largest private organization in the Kingdom of Lysandria, with a charter of overseeing construction efforts around the kingdom. Under Boss Ludo Ulmenic-Gerrad, it purchased from the Crown monopoly rights on state and civilian construction across many parts of Lysandria which it does not shy away from capitalizing on for profit. It now operates under Boss Carbide Ulmenic-Gerrad who has overseen the continuous expansion of the Company.
The Company has grown tremendously wealthy during the intervening centuries, constructing castles, guildhalls, temples, and tenements across the Kingdom and even taking on construction assignments afterwards. It is rumored that agents affiliated with the Company have been involved in attacks on construction efforts by third parties and even the construction of private houses, and that the Company has intentionally slowed construction in order to raise demand.

Public Agenda

Ostensibly, the goals of the Company are simply put: to see the construction and building maintenance needs of all within Lysandria met with quality, and to ensure that construction and building maintenance workers all make their fair share.

History

The history of the Company ultimately traces back to a compromise between two possible heirs to the Kingdom of Lysandria: Princess Ortura, who was younger but considered legitimate, and Prince Ludo who was older but with disputed parentage. When it became clear that most of the Lysandrian vassals supported Princess Ortura, she offered to employ him in overseeing the reconstruction of a wall around the Royal City and on all future royal projects.
From these beginnings, the Company grew rapidly, overseeing projects such as the construction of the Great Upwater Dam, the Great Sky-market of Luxia, the Great Hall of the Lysandrian Magical Instititute, and castles and forts throughout the realm, continuing to grow in power and influence ever since.
