Session 10: To Whom it Fey Concern

General Summary

Though he did not understand it, William Grimhound had inadvertently found himself in the Feywild. Seeking to find Erinyen and put an end to the mystery, he followed along the tracks that the elf had left behind. An encounter with a small Bone Fairy proved that the Feywild was not a safe place to be.
Meanwhile, Gul'Khaan, Loanedth and Nil-enor  left Ser Charles Greenleaf to take care of the situation in the Green Village while they tried to figure out where William had gone. Nil-enor shared a quick word with Beauty, who revealed that she would be leaving Farkas, and the rest of town. Investigating the gate to the Wilds, the three found that it would seem to be a one-way passage into a strange an alien place, which Gul quickly identified as the home of The Hero. Though Loanedth was apprehensive, the three pass through the gate which disappeared behind them. Loanedth's fears would seem to be justified: the voices that whisper in their mind did not take kindly to the beating of Fey drums.
The party found William interacting with a much less dangerous fey creature: a Firefox. Though it did snag a ration. Shooing off the adorable creature our party soon found Erinyen, and another Fey. It would seem that Erinyen did all he did in service to this Fey, The Traitor of Gul'khaan's quest. Disposing of the now useless Erinyen, the Traitor revealed that he believed that the fey were the rightful heirs of Athena, even if the Summer Court and their Queen did not feel so. With a chunk of mysterious black rock, reminiscent of the one the party had acquired from the Tomb of Lord Ziva, the Traitor began battle.
Rivers of acid flowed from the strength of the stone, and Gul tried to fire bolts of arcane energy at the Traitor, striking them with a particularly powerful one. Loanedth ducked from tree to tree, and struck out with bolts from their shortbow. But fire returned from the Traitor forced Loanedth back. Meanwhile, William leaped across the river of acid and tried to attack. But the Traitor was quick, and struck William's mind with a discordant thought that sent him to the ground. As Nil-enor recited prayers that sent divine energy wracking through the traitors body, Loanedth found themselves the target of a spell. Looking around, they could find no allies, no friends amongst the battle. Just strangers. Prepared to run, they loosed one last shot. Having seen a weak spot in the Traitor's armour, Loanedth pierced the Traitor's jugular, spilling forth green blood on the battlefield. Their strength drained, the Traitor dropped the paranoia spell, and fell dead.
Quickly rushing to stabilize William, the group took time to grab what they could, including the Black Stone. As William came to, a beautiful woman, dressed in alien clothes that radiated light told them not to worry, and before they knew it, the party had been returned to the Prime Material Plane.
The archway that had lead them to the Wilds collapsed, and William, determined to rest his bones, clambered back into the Leaky Tankard. There, the party found that the situation had calmed in the apparent hours they'd been gone. Azas said that she would leave town, and Beauty was nowhere to be seen. Farkas was tending to his wounds, alone, as Charles asked them about what had happened.
When morning came, Gordon showed up, apparently sneaking into the Republic of Crystar at the behest of Charles, to bring the party back to the Free City. He didn't quite understand who Gul was, or why he was clambering into the Arcane Engine, but they all packed in tight. As well as someone from the Guild who had apparently convinced Gordon to come along: Raikira Vorjid. She offered an apology for her earlier behaviour, and delivered a letter to William, from the Lord of A'mashara. Apparently the Lord was to wed U'la, and that William wasn't invited. Raikira also delivered a message from Philtris Fenhorn.
"Go get 'em."
