Lived in a small village out in the middle of nowhere in a mountainous range. younger brother, his mother, and father. the INCIDENT prefering to be alone, he would always wander into the woods. there was a special spot he came to love and cultivated a small garden of plants. younger brother follows him one day, sees the garden and tells parents. culture is very gender based; males are hunters, gatherers, and soldiers, while females are teachers, healers, and caregivers. gardening fell to the healers for their medicines and tonics. parents drag Gul to his garden and makes him destroy it while the three of them watched and his brother cheered. very traumatic. snapped something in Gul. resentment and a deep seeded rage bubbled and broiled inside him. he wanted revenge. started slipping into the forest at dusk, always returning before nightfall, to gather the leaves of a poisonous flower. the goal was to kill his brother first, then his parents. This is what drew The Hero to him. The Hero convinced him that while violence will always be an option, revenge should never be, should they choose to Pact.. Gul first accepted because of the power offered in return, but over time came to realize the folly of his revenge plot. The night the pact was sealed was the last night anyone from Gul's tribe ever saw him.
