Current Species & Cultures
The human race (various homo species who melded together as one specie eventually) is alone on the planet. No elves, no tritons, no fauns, no sirens, until around A.D. 2050 when medical technology develops affordable body modifications. Then your body is only limited by your imagination.
(There are a handful of exceptions left over from the diabolical biological experiments of A.D.1000, but most of them are microscopic creatures. There are only a handful of actual fauns, and apparently only one minotaur on the entire planet.)
Needs & Relations
Humans are doing quite well.
Artificial Intelligences are not allowed to vote or sign legal contracts, but they are allowed to cast votes for their human owners and deliver their owners' signatures onto legal contracts. That's almost as good. They are beings of pure energy who can perform amazing feats of computation and finance in a world where information is power. They only need the devotion of humans and a little electricity.
