Deity
The Deities are powerful (but non-omnipresent and non-omnipotent) entities. Though they have the ability to greatly influence ordinary individuals, they may or may not actually care to. Their numbers are extensive, but only a handful are widely known, as many choose to remain unknown and unseen.
They are classified into one species not by their appearance, which varies widely, but by their long lifespans, divine powers, ability to heal from wounds that would be mortal to other creatures, and secluded place of origin within Higher and Lower Shenzala.
Basic Information
Anatomy
They're typically bipedal (but not always.) Though they have a tendency to mimic other intelligent races in appearance, some can embody entirely different species or conform to no set species standards at all.
Genetics and Reproduction
Some are of a discernable sex, but many others are not. They are not able to reproduce.
Growth Rate & Stages
All currently-existing Deities came into existence fully-formed at the moment the Age of Balance began. They don’t age and cannot be killed. If injured, even grievously, their bodies will slowly knit themselves back together until they're once again whole.
Ecology and Habitats
They typically create floating islands of their own design within Higher and Lower Shenzala. These islands may take on any concievable form, from natural to hand-built. A few Deities at most will inhabit any specific location. It's common for them to reside alone.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They don't usually need to eat, but may choose to do so for pleasure's sake.
Behaviour
Though none have Boons, they do have the ability to peer into the Realms closest to their home plane. Deities from Higher Shenzala can see into the Middle Realm, the Higher Realm, and High-To-Low Selsya. Deities from Lower Shenzala can see into the Middle Realm, the Lower Realm, and Low-To-High Selsya. No Deities are able to see into either Higher Midway or Lower Midway.
Along with being able to see into certain Realms, the Deities are also able to send messages to those realms, but only if at least two come together and pool their effort collectively. This method of communication can be used to transmit information or demands.
Some Deities demand to be worshiped, others accept worship, and some outright reject it. This depends entirely on their personality.
