Snail's Savior
This tale from the Divine Conveyance is intended to convince the intelligent races that they should use their developed senses of empathy to show kindness to other beings.
Summary
A monkey loping through the trees sees a snail crawling across the forest floor.
"I'm much bigger and more important than that snail," the monkey thinks, and crushes the little creature without a second thought.
At the same time, a wandering Tsaamit sees a different snail trying to make its way across a road.
"I'm much bigger and more important than that snail," the Tsaamit thinks, and gently lifts the tiny being to place it on the other side of the road.
Like the Tsaamit wanderer, the monkey has the wherewithal to realize how much larger and more powerful it is than a snail, but that's where the similarities end. Where the Tsaamit has the ability to feel empathy and assist a creature more insignificant than themselves, the monkey can only comprehend the size and strength difference, then use them both to end the other creature's existence.
