Bones of the Behemoths

All across the Lower, Middle, and Higher Realms, enormous skeletons lie scattered across miles of ground. They belong to the Dead Behemoths, a long-extinct species of bizarre creatures that used to roam the Realms of Athanya. Judging from the amount of weathering their exteriors have undergone, these bones are far older than the Age of Balance. Little is known about the creatures they came from.

Significance

As soon as the first intelligent peoples stumbled across the bones, they began to put them to use, especially the ever-canny Suktu. A few skulls and ribcages have served to form the basic structure of buildings, with towns eventually growing to surround them. The smaller fragments have proven to be excellent for carving into anything imaginable, including tools, weapons, works of art, and even forms of currency.
