sXVII: The Ghost Town of Nulb

General Summary

As Firebrand turned around to give the all clear from the alien from the supposed ninth planet and of no ankegs, he noticed Legion aproaching one of the transfer nodes. And before he could physically do anything, Legion had engulfed the node, and had begun to devour the technological structure. Trying to prevent this, and possible aggression from the creature who had just left, Firebrand continued to try and stop Legion, including trying to shoot him. This would however prove inefective, activating Legion's PFFS. Seconds later upon the consumption of the transfer node, Legion's colony was flooded with a collection of information. Thousands of years of collected knowledge, gathered from spies and informants acting second hand, as well as a complete repository of the Common and Latin languages.   Deciding to leave as soon as possible, the group made camp a few hours further along the trail. The next morning, after encoutnering wolverines, the Mercenaries would spend the majority of the day cleaning up their tents and making sure no other creatures attacked them as they prepared for Nulb and the last stretch.   Arriving around 5:30pm, Xaod set up camp outside the ruined town of Nulb, now a ghost town covered in vegitation from the swamps. Deciding to waste no time, the Mercenaries left Xaod at camp, and headed into Nulb.   Upon arriving at the first substantial looking building, the Mercenaries decided to stop and investigate it for the rumored ghosts that live in the town. The building was filled with four ghosts, two of which were hostile. After sluething, and talking with the spirits, the Mercenaries were able to piece together that an assassin for the Temple of Elemental Evil had assassinated nearly everyone in the building, witch was discovered to be an inn, or common house. This man was named Wat and constantly hounded the Mercenaries as they talked with Dick Reinsch and Dala, the owner of the house, and his beloved, two of Wat's victems. As well as talking with the Song Bird's ghost. Upon C2 dispatching the ghost of Wat, the ghosts of the Waterside Hostel where able to pass on to the afterlife, no longer bound to this evil place.   Upon leaving the hostel the Mercenaries spotted candles in one of the houses windows, and as Firebrand pointed out "where there are candles, there is life". Dùghall decided to flank the building as C2 aproached and knocked on the door offering the occupant coffee. Turning around thinking there was going to be no response - he was suprised when the door shattered and a quarterstaff was swung at him! Deflecting it with shield, he rolled to his party members and faced the villan who dared attack Galactic Citizens Alliance property. This person revealed himself to be Lareth, the Beuitiful, but was indeed rather ugly and heavily scarred. Despite his appearance, he faught with deadly power and precision, keeping even the spacemen on their perverbial toes.
