sXLIX: The Lost Shrine
General Summary
- During the two month reconstruction of New Orlanes, Eclipse discovered a map and box of coins, hidden away before, or during the Cult of the Reptile God's takeover of the Temple of Merrika.
- Before the Knights of Passione leave for Eru-Tovar, and while Giorno Giovanni and Davros Loreweaver were having a 'Spa Day', she enlisted the help of Wakeley in looking for the shrine the map lead to.
- Before leaving, Davros caught wind of this, and saw the strange coins, giving four that he had found while exploring the Dark Mere and the Stone Tooth Peak, the opposite side of the Starmetal Hills location marked on the map.
- Heading out the two spend 2 1/2 days of travel before arriving.
- The two investigated a cave with a statue of a female elven god, unknown to the two fledgling historians.
- After a deep search, the two found a coin slot in the statue, large enough for the strange coins.
- Wakeley tied a string to one of the coins and tried to scam the statue, but the force the coin fell, some 3-feet, and the internal mechanism, broke the string.
- Before further investigation, the two hid from approaching adventurers from the H.P.S..
- Using trickery and magic, Wakeley and Eclipse scared the two off from the sight, shortly after they set up camp in the cave.
- Alone again, the two began to fill the statue with the strange coins.
- After being filled, a secret door was opened, and upon being forced open further by Eclipse, the Lost Shrine was entered for the first time since its creation.
- The two were met by the guardian, using magic to appear as four separate entities.
- After feeling Eclipse's purpose, the guardian let the lone knight to approach a strange fountain that sat in the middle of the shrine. This fountain, seemed to produce crystals of time energy that refracted light like a thousand perfect prisms.
- Upon Eclipse approaching the fountain, the shards coalesced into a strange clock, which Eclipse took.
- At this point, time seemed to force the two forward, and the dead corpse of the shrines guardian lay in a peaceful slumber under a large dead root.
- Exploring the shrine, wakeley found a ball of pure light, which began to lead the two on at supersonic speeds.
- The ball lead the two to the sight of Hookerhill, in this desolate, windless, grey ash covered futurescape.
- It was here that Wakeley found a strange coin of mirror polished silver, which read "For the Broken Queen".
