Cult of the Reptile God
The sinister cult near the Village of Orlane. It was this group that was responsible for the massive decline in Orlane and the mass waves of kidnappings.
Employing Troglodytes, the cult would sneak into town at night and bring captured civilians, travelers, and adventures that stayed at the Golden Grain Inn. From there the cult would bring the terrified prisoners to the Temple of Merikka, that was at the time controlled by the cult.
From the Temple the Troglodytes would bring the prisoners to the Rushmoors and into their dark gods dungeon. From here they would sit in holding cells.
Those of week wills would be brainwashed and become cultists themselves. Those who could resist the brainwashing of the dark god Explictica Defilus, were eaten by the self proclaimed Reptile God.

Disbandment
In 4126 Second Age, a group of survivors and adventurers would stumble into Orlane and it's plight. Staying at the Golden Grain Inn, the group quickly became aware of the sinister goings on in the town. Escaping, the group set their eyes on the Temple, where most of their gear had been taken before the escape.
After successfully clearing the temple of all priests and cultists alike, the group, rearmed, would search many areas, including the Dim Forest, before searching the Rushmoors, and finding the Dungeon of the Reptile God. After a grueling week of battle, the group would attempt an assassination mission, killing a priest during a ritual, and accidently setting in motion the incomplete plans of the Cult.
Fleeing the dungeon and the newly forming Snake Abominations and gaining the aid of two groups of Pelorian Paladins in the area, the combined forces marched on the Dungeon and Orlane, clearing it of all Snake Abominations.
