Dr. Yang Liu

Liu Yang, a brilliant but reclusive woman from Romulus, is one of the three-person engineering team aboard the UNSS Asteria. Yang’s domain is software and robotics, which includes the automated systems like life support, avionics, matter compilers, deployable probes, and service drones. She is rather eccentric, hyper-organized, and loves to dote on her precious cleaner bots. Technically, she should be the one mentoring Jae, but they do not exactly get along.
Yang is rarely seen outside of meals or active missions, and greatly prefers to stay on the ship whenever possible. Because of this she has been described as the "ship cryptid." Growing up in the confines of a space station left her with a profound fear of open spaces, but in private she is working to overcome her agoraphobia because she would love to see the oceans of Earth for which she’s named.
