Gnomes

Gnomes were one of the original races to be brought by the gods to Astoria. Blessed with long lives, gnomes are naturally curious with a tendency for introspection and invention. Most gnomes live in their island kingdom of Frasnir, but gnomes can be found in smaller numbers throughout the Xorik. Rock gnomes prefer the large cities where they work as inventors or merchants selling creative gnomish goods. Forest gnomes are rarer, and many prefer the woods of Frasnir, but some choose to live in other places of nature such as Airathul Forest. Although gnomish myth speaks of a long forgotten deity that originally brought the gnomes to Xorik, the the same deity supposedly fell in battle during the Origin Wars. That god is now regarded as myth and most gnomes instead worship other gods such as Moradin, Lunara, and Pelor. Azarith is also popular among the reclusive forest gnomes.
