The Incandescent Order of He'Sén

The worship of the sun-god He'Sén is the most widespread in the entire continent of Umaros. In The Republic of Thorns, this worship is overseen by the Incandescent Order which has existed longer than most cities and predates the Age of Calm. Within its ranks it upholds a strict hierarchy and is riddled with internal politics, but it welcomes any outsider with a gentle hand.

To protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Cosmological Views

In the beginning, there was nothing. And then there were two. Light and Dark were created as equals and so they strived to prove who was better than the other. So light made the sun, its radiance all-encompassing. So dark made the world, so it could cast a shadow. The sun did not take kindly to the shadow and would chase it endlessly around the world. And so night and day were created.

Tenets of Faith

What tenets you are expected to follow, in the eyes of the order, depends on your rank within it.   The Common Man These tenets are laid down for those who worship He'Sén yet do not officially belong to the organization.   Be kind to those who need it.
The very foundation of the faith is to help others and to be kind to one another. The church believes that society will only truly move forward when we can all work together with kindness in our hearts. Worshipers of He'Sét are rarely hesitant to welcome a stranger into their home.   Do only that which you would suffer.
To bring pain or suffering unto others is in direct opposition to the tenents of the church. This rule has been used as a reference for most punishments that may come to criminals throughout the country.   Do not fear the night, respect it.
Opposite He'Sén is Mi'Ván, opposite day is night, opposite light is dark. This does not mean that one should fear and abhor the other side. It is important for each worshiper to remember that one side can only exist because of the other. One should, however, still remain vigilant when dealing with that which is of the night. In everyday life, most people just use the first part of this tenet as a way to encourage each other, edge each other to action, or other such uses. It is by far the most common tenet among common folk, yet rarely spoken in its entirety.
