Introduction to Shadows of the Necropolis
Introduction
As starting (level 1) adventurers in the Savage Coast, where steel is uncommon, half the population is nomad, you assemble as a group to jump at an opportunity to get rich quickly by exploring the depths of Whadi's Necropolis.
Character creation
To start the campaign please create a character following these steps:
1. Choose your concept
Think of a concept (generally a race & class) for your character. Breifly have it validated with the DM to make sure it fits in the setting and campaign, and be ready to make tweaks later after receiving feedback from the DM.
2. Create a background for your character (optional)
Think of a background for your character where did he come from and how did he become an adventurer. This can be a prose or bullet point format. Try not to make it too long, especially if you use generative AI. No more than 250 words, or 150 if you use generative AI; they tend to read all the same.
- What was his life before being an andventurer?
- Are there any triggers that made him into an adventurer?
- What are his allies or nemesis, or perhaps firends & family members?
3. Create your character
Create your character using D&D beyond using D&D 5e 2014 ruleset, or manually using the 2014 5e books.
4. Final touches
Choose a Sponsors for your PC and adjust any stats and equipment. You can also find a picture for your character and optionally write a "public" description of one sentence or two that will be emailed to all players for reference.Around a small camp fire in the hollow of sand dunes mid-point between Salt-Town and Whadi you discuss in hushed voices what you will do with your part of the loot. Your spirits are high despite the cold night as your bellies are full of warm groundhog stew. Slaying zombies may be a grim business, but, you are confident your well assembled team will easily cut through them. In a week, your pockets will be full of gems and ancient magic!
