Laconia

Once a well-to-do settlement on the banks of Lake Sticaea, Laconia relied on its fishing for the health and wealth of its citizens. Since the cataclysm only a decade ago, the waters and the fish have dried up, leaving instead a strange tower of breathstone rising from the drying lakebed. It is these very ruins and the promise of mystery and treasury they hold that forms the new and crumbling foundations of Laconian life.
The newfound promise of fortune has not only attracted those driven by a thirst for knowledge but also opportunistic individuals seeking to exploit the ruins and take advantage of those who venture inside. In response to the chaos, all three city-states have sent peacekeepers to Laconia, serving as a form of law enforcement to maintain order. Additionally, the neutral city-state of Shurevaire has dispatched a significant number of scholars to delve into the mysteries of the lost empire.
As a result, Laconia has transformed into a mix of old and new buildings, a reflection of the town's evolving identity. The native townspeople, although initially reluctant, have gradually accepted the influx of newcomers—scholars, adventurers, and opportunists alike. The town stands as an outpost of exploration and knowledge, teeming with possibilities and dangers in equal measure.
