There were five Rana women in the tribe, ripe with unborn new life. My heart ached for them. I didn't know the Sun, our mother, would become valatainted that day because if I had, I'd have raised a mountain of trouble to get the cleverwoman to give the mothers the potion of birthing. Because of my ignorance, 5 valatainted children were born. Our priest was heavy hearted to send them to our mother in order to end the taint... I must understand better this terrible event!Not every tribe fears the voiding of the sun but many certainly do. It has a profound effect on tribal life and all Ranabiri members. The mood darkens with the Sun for the brief period of time that is occurs. It's a rare event with seemingly no cause and Loremasters have long puzzled it and puzzle it still. History
Valataint on the Sun is seen as a solemn occasion for many tribes as many Ranabiri women, as much as 2 months close to their due date, inexplicably give birth. In the case that no children in the tribe are born during an event, other blood sacrifices are made as a way to placate the diminished sun.
