He does know a little magic and when he uses it makes his strikes or swings of his blade like a spell being released like a titan hit. The queen's personal double is secretly in love with him. She knows she can never bare any of his children. But when the young queen is out adventuring as Ruby, she gets to play as the queen and the benefits that go with it. He is careful when those days happen and makes sure he drinks his personal "medicine", which gives him stamina but has a side effect of making his "load" blanks.
