Maelis Sunfur
Maelis, age 84, currently resides as one of the five eldrrs in Nipan village. Even though her live was Struck with tragen, she still has one of the happiest smile im All of Nipan and is fondoy süoken of as the tribe Granny.
Born as Maelis Tarlantar in the now abandoned village of Crefall, near the Fog Cliffs, she learned the way of the more traditional catfolk. Altough, always a little bit rebellous , she finally obliegen to an arranged marriage upom turning 18, to the 6 years older Kaldeim Sunfur. To her suprise her new husband shared her rebellous nature and soon both would be known as troublemakers throughout tje whole village. She doub5ed it could happen, but being partners in Crime allowed love to blossom. Forged like cold stell, with less passion than both wished for, the pair always had each others back for their different antics.
14 years after being married, a message came to Nipal. Her old villageand everybody she knew bevor Nipal vanished. Tje Toxin for reaiding on the Canyon nearby seemingly swapped over and did not lesve anybody alive. At leastvthat Was the Story. Maelis immediatley traveleld towards the Ruins Despite Any warnings. Kelheim followed her quitely. He did kot speak a word and only Held her tightly when she gaued upon the Ruins.
Afterwards Maelis and her hisband travelled and lived for 9 years among the different catfolk villages and some of the other Folks. They learned about the dangers each village faced and helped to mitigate the risks. It was during time that her four children would be born.
After her stay in the village of Samian, she first heard about problems between rivaling catfolk clans. These usually smallish fights, broke into war this time. Fueled by weapons supposedly found in the nearby dungeons a great massacre ensured. This Civil war lasted for almost 20 years and was only finally vanguished through her Diplomatic efforts and her husbands fighting abilites. During this time they got help by an adventuring group led by a strange dwarve that by her own accord did not behabe like any dwarven she knew beforhand. This group were the Vanguishers and with their help they were able to confiscate almost all of the hated weapons dispersed among the catfolk.
Kaldeim would get a great injury dueingbtjis time, to which he eventually succumbed. Two of her children would die by tragic accudents. The third would teavel the World upon reaching year 18, never to be seen again. And her fourth and youngest would become the wive of the tribal leader of Nipan. A mareiage forged by love, which she herself enabled and was very proud of.
For years Maelis used her influence gained during the war amd her Diplomatie skills to forge Allianzen and build trade Router, thus making Nipan the most influencial catfolk village. Many other catfolk would travel to Nipan to live therein, vut the New arrivals would create tension. Many of them did not ahree with the leadership, while the original Nipan would threathen to abandon the New arrivals.
After two further decades this tension finally led to a succesful assassination attempt of the prevailing leader. The assassins would be caught amd executed but this left a Hollow taste of revenge. Her daughter and grand children would still be in danger, and thus they relocated to Alt'Ena. Only Maelis remained and led the Clan and village with the help of four other elders.
Recently her eldest grandson, Cartan Tigres, upon turning 15 (he has two older sisters) came into the village, with the intent to join an expedition of Professor Talamund. Tradition would allow him to take the place of his father as a leader, but Maelis knows very well that traditions may very well be outdated. However, seeing the mismanagement of the five elders, herself included, makes her unsure what she should support or if there may be a third Option.
