Jeruvian Deep

The Jeruvian Deep is the first Dungeon discovered near Alt'Ena. First Dungeon since recently there has been romours of a second dungeon showing up.   The upper levels have been mostly striped of valuables, but is at least well cartographed by the Domin Andaimon of Alt'Ena and several independent adventuring guilds. Expeditions still happen since after clearing the way to the lowest levels, some goods cans till be found and the remains of Daimons can be valuable by themselve.   When approaching the Jeruvian Deep, one would encounter a catherdral like building. A prime example of dwarven architecture, where more and more structures would be added. At some point religious temples would be included into the temple, a repurposing of not used rooms and halls after most adventuring guilds moved out. With this many of the preposterous building strucutres would be refuncitonalized to be religious symbols. There is a huge central gate, heavily guarded. But this is mostly for show, since most visitors would visit from one of the many side entrances - which also have the ticket boots for tourists.   The actual entrances to the Dungeon are less fascinating. They appear as simple gaps in the stone of the Tyr mountains, where only a faint black mist alludes to the miasma concentration beneath these openings. These entrances are all marked and protected so that only designated explorers can venture into the Jeruvian Deep. But it is long been rumored that there are more entrances distributed among the Tyr Mountain Range. Of course, if these entrances exist they are either undiscovered or well hidden secrets of the groups that use them.

Live next to the Dungeon

Next to the cathedhral are several living spaces. These include 4 popular taverns, living quarters of ascendant staff and priests as well as more confy living quarters for wealthy tourists.

The structure of the Jeruvian Deep

The Jeruvian Deep, like many Dungeon, has an Okeanoeidís structure. This roughly translates to ocean like from an ancient dialect. It relates to how the density of Miasma, and occurence of Daimons, can be equaled to the different layers exisitng in an ocean. Most discovered dungeon follow that pattern, but it was originally described by Museum and Research Institute of Alt'Ena. More on this can be read in Okeanoeidís Dungeon Structure.   Within these structures are a number of known geographic and archeological curiosities. First, like most dungeons, the space the dungeon occupies is vastly over what should be possible from its position in the dungeon. This relates back to The Sealing reforming space. Early estimates were that the dungeon occupies 1000 times more area than should be possible from its location in the mountains. But as more of the lower levels have been explored these estimates shot up as high as 10000 times more area.   Secondly, Most of the upper levels of the dungeon is occupied by remnants of a lost city, that was likely one of the center locations of the Sealing. This city has been named Jeruvia, but there are a number of hints to other names it had in the long gone past. Many of the city structures are intact, and there were hundreds of magical artifacts found in the lost rooms. Of course, this relates more to magical artifacts, that sustain themselves being the ones surviving the eons, while those rather common ones just succumbing to time like anything else.   The structure of the city was or is archetypical for the mega cities of the past. Gigantic buildings that would house a few hundred families, and castle-like public places with shops and companies. Most of these connected with bridges. In fact, 12 dungeons have been documented to have similar general structures (the buildings often differing in building style and decorations) which also the Okaeonid structuring of the dungeon. But The Jeruvian dungeon was the first of the 12 to have been thoroughly mapped. Thus a lot of the architecture found in the other 11 was described in relation to what was known in the Jeruvian Dungeon.
