Canine-kin
Canine-kin are sapient species that resemble different canine types. They can be separated mroe clearly than other sapients of the same kin, though culturally these differences do not seem to exist to their kin.
There are 5 kind of Canine-kin on Vualtar:
1. Lupin, wolven like Animalkind, that can take very different roles. They have the innate ability to unite wolves or other canines in a sort of pack. Many Lupin also take on leading roles in their societies. 2. HunChien, the most variable of the Canine-kin having a wild variety of body forms, but high empathy. They have rather good hearing and smelling ability. 3. Kitsune, fox like being with the rare ability to shapeshift but restricted to forms similar of other sentients. They share this ability with the Tanuki, that have a broader repertoire of possible shapeshift forms but are rare on Vualtar. 4. Cheeroonear, long armed Dog-faced sentients. Their long arms give them unique fighting properties and excellet climbing abilites, which other Canine-kin are often bad at. They can have incredible spurts of speed. 5. Gerifreki - Seemingly also related to Giant-kin, Gerifreki are hugh Canine-kin sentients that often tower 0.5-1 meter above the other Canine-kin. They only occur in regions with enough natural ressources to sustain their bigger bodies. For this reason, some of these also work as body guards for rich individuals, stated to be some of the most loyal bodyguards you can get. 6 Kidu, most dark haired Canine-kin, with the ability to see disaster in the short future. In other continents are also common:
Tanuki - Similar to Kitsune, Tanuki have the ability to shapeshift but are more clumsy in their execution since they have much bigger pool of possible form to attain. Most Tanuki have inperfect and seemingly unpractised shapeshifting due to the variety of forms they can take on, which they traditionally disguise with natural objects like large leaves. In their continent of origin Tanuki often form close-knit villages, but in the last decades many individuals have explored the world even leading to small Tanuki communities in larger cities like Alt'Ena Gwyllgi - seemingly related to the Kidu, Gwyllgi are enormous Canine-kin often towerin beyond 2 metres. Many indidviduals of such giant species are often described as gentle, but not the Gwyllgi. When a Gwyllgi reaches historic significance it is almost always because of their brutally not seldom motivated by practicality. Hyenian - known for their hearty laugh Hyenian brighten the mood of everybody around Quiqirn
