TLCassis - My 2024 New Years Resolutions

AND 74 Articles later...

Yes, 74. That's what I get for judging a category in WE - but truthfully, it's really a joy. I get to read a bunch of work across the spectrum of skills and creativity in the WA community and it is immense! And the new "competitor mode" seems to help keep the number of articles down to a manageable number (though I do think that it would be good to have that be a "double button" feature on the entry - "enter me for a badge", and "enter me for a badge and judging"). We'll see how it all pans out in Summer Camp 2024.   if you havent read my article about my favorite articles, here it is:
Great World Ember 2023 Conditions Articles!
Generic article | Jan 20, 2024
  Highlights:
  • I was introduced to the spectacularly gruesome (in this case) work of the Almighty Diety Barron
  • I remembered that unresolved and unresolveable situations treated fearlessly and thoughtfully as the messy problems they are make the best stories and articles
  • I was reminded of the enormous powers of strong character voice, fun, and humor to grab and hold readers
  • I saw, yet again, that art is not necessary to write good articles - but it's hugely important for great ones.

My New Years Resolutions

And I think that all these great articles have inspired me to resolve this:   Quantity be damned, every article I publish and promote this year to my followers is going to be as good as I can make it (except for Summer Camp where I'll do my best within the time I have allotted).   This is going to be a very busy year for me. I started a new program at work and I am moving my aging parents across the country to live nearby where we can keep tabs and be a support network for them. I don't know how much I am going to be able to write. I do however want to learn more CSS. There are effects I want to incorporate into my world that I need to be proficient in CSS to be able to do. So maybe a class will be in order now.

I sincerely hope that 2024 is a blessed year for you!
