The Second Hand

The royal guards of Skegring Sands are the official special forces of the island who answer directly to the advisor of the Pharaoh. They are known as The Second Hand as they are known to only respond when asked to by the advisor when he has no other choice. They are feared amongst the criminals and heralded amongst the common populace. They tend to have a mixed review depending on which side of the law the person is on. They not only are sent out on behalf of the advisor, they are also tasked with guarding the person and secret behind the myth of the Pharaoh of the South.
They have recently been quiet but were last seen investigating Cliffdale after reports of it being closed off to most travellers. This action was not deemed acceptable to the advisor so wanted it investigated.

Composition

Manpower

The Second Hand normally holds between ten and twenty people at any one time. They keep their manpower small so that they are able to infiltrate should they need to. They very rarely need to go undercover but when they do, they are very well trained in stealth and subterfuge. A Second Hand guard is always expected to be able to think on their feet.

Equipment

The Second Hand have equipment that is expected for any paladin or cleric to hold on them, but they also have many potions for healing or poisoning, depending on the situation they are involved in.

Weaponry

The Second Hand have weapons that they choose to fight with, but often they are found with swords, shields, axes and hammers. There are the occasional guards that have none of these and focus on magic as their source of weaponry, but they may have a staff or dagger on them as a melee weapon.

Vehicles

The Second Hand have no physical vehicles but they do have their own set of camels that they use if they need to get anywhere fast.
