Magic Of The Known World

Magic has clearly had a significant impact on the history of Aroka. Magical relics are frequently recovered from the ruins of the past age and the scars of powerful acts remain on the planet's surface. The elders of society recall stories of great beings and omnipotent gods, but very little of that can be found in the world today as only minor forms of it are practiced throughout the known world.

  • In Ohedyn, their sages coax the plants and wildlife to grown according to their will, forming structures and even ships of living trees and taming beasts of burden to sustain their economies.
  • In Morydal, food and water are drawn from the sand and rock to provide for them as well as provide shelter or perceive unforeseen dangers.
  • In Cogys, Magic and science blend together to master the laws of the natural world and beyond as well as gain even further insight into the mechanisms of reality.
  • In the pockets of civilization on Okanu, Magic is so strictly monitored, allowing only a few selected individuals are to perform what few magical tasks are required. After the catastrophe at the Amyhran Academy in 154 CE, known as the Mageblast, the study of Magic has been significantly reduced, almost to the point where it's not worth the effort for all but the most dedicated.
  • Outside of civilized society, even on Okanu, it is understood that Magic if practice by the lawless, the Feral, the Scourge, and the other uncivilized beings of the wilderness.
There are rumors of a secret branch of the Consort dedicated to seeking out those that unlawfully practice Magic, but any instances of known or suspected practitioners disappearing occur under such unusual circumstances that some believe there are other, far worse explanations.
