Braided Tribes
The Braided Tribes, often referred to as the Braid, are the clans that live in the northern Morydal desert. After millennia of conflict over scare resources, they put aside their differences and banded together. Much of the population lives along the only year-round river of the region, growing what crops they can on its shores. At the head of this river, the mountain from which it fountains serves as the home and mines for those not afraid of the dark caves and caverns, carefully carving out an escape from the scorching heat while extracting precious gems, metals, and Shard. Anyone unable to be of use in either of these populations must wander the desert and find a means to prove their value, either by bringing down prey or monster, finding a new oasis, discovering a new vein to mine, or uncovering a ruin of the ancients to plunder for knowledge and riches. Anyone unable to contribute to the Braid is or not use to the Braid and can not share in its meager prosperity in this unforgiving land.
