The Truth Behind the 'Origin Story'

The beginning of Armonía's history has been all but lost to the clutches of time. The only part of the creation Armonesians know is factual is that everything in creation can be tied back to Nix, she was there before the beginning and is the one who creates. No one knows of the existence of Destruction, he has hidden too well. Destruction has never shown up in any of the versions of the Origin story that has come up. Not only has Destruction been wholly ignored and unheard of in history, but the truth of Armonía's creation has also become warped.

Kosmos was sacrificed to create Armonía, and the only ones to know firsthand of this truth are Chaos (who was with Kosmos at the moment of his death) and Destruction (who was the mastermind behind Kosmos' sacrifice).
Chaos in grief was distraught over the death of the only other person he knew (besides Nix his creator). He destroyed a world and gave life to the twins Sun and Moon, Sun and Moon were introduced into the world only to see Chaos at his worst, grieving over his brother. Sun and Moon concluded that Chaos was violent and aggressive, it didn't help that Chaos wanted to rule over Armonía for his brother.
Chaos had good intentions for Armonía, he spent thousands of years trying to become ruler and then ruling as he tried and failed to act on the intentions he had for Armonía. Chaos in no way, shape, or form in any mental state to fulfill his wishes and instead was deemed a tyrant.
Sun and Moon spent thousands of years planning a revolution after his ascension. Eventually, they succeeded in a coup d'etat, resulting in the banishment of Chaos to the very realm he destroyed in anguish. Chaos then spends a couple of decades dealing with his emotions and thoughts finally reluctantly accepting what had happened before accidentally giving life to a third child... Darkness, who was born of love.

Summary

The text tells the story of the creation of the universe by a being called Nix. It also tells the story of three other beings: Destruction, Chaos, and Kosmos. Destruction was selfish and cruel, Kosmos was compassionate, and Chaos was misunderstood and grieving. Chaos and Kosmos became inseparable companions, and Kosmos’ sacrifice gave birth to Armonía. Chaos wanted to help Armonía become the best it could be, but was banished by the Sun and Moon, who believed he was a tyrant. In his banishment, Chaos created Darkness and treated him like a son. However, Darkness was neglected and hated by others. Chaos now lives in isolated solitude, reminded of his brother's sacrifice.

Darkness is now one of four people who know of the actual origin story. The first is Destruction because although he may be hiding, he is watching, everything... and everyone... The second is Chaos because much (if not all) of the origin story relates to him and as such he has first-hand accounts of what is true. The third is Darkness because is the son of Chaos and treated as one would a father, Chaos is also the only one who gave Darkness any love, affection, or attention as he is severely neglected and ignored by his older sisters. The final person who knows is Kage, the adopted son, and apprentice of Darkness, who learned the truth from both his adopted father and grandfather Chaos.

Variations & Mutation

Nix exists at the beginning of nothing. She was there before there existed. She is a creation between existence and nonexistence, a being of immeasurable power. Nix possesses the ability to create, and all of creation can be traced back to her. Destruction came first, followed by Chaos a few thousand years later, and then Kosmos a few hundred years after that.
Chaos and Kosmos become chosen brothers through centuries of companionship. Destruction had hidden himself before the coming of Chaos, and no one, except Nix, knew of his existence. Destruction was selfish, prideful, and cruel; he believed everything created after him was made to obey and be ruled by himself.
In a heinous act, Destruction orchestrated the sacrifice of Kosmos, which gave birth to Armonía. Chaos, devastated by the loss of his brother and best friend, destroyed the first realm ever created and accidentally created the Sun and Moon. Destruction still believed that everything in creation belonged to him, but Chaos believed that he should rule Armonía since it was created through his brother’s sacrifice. Chaos wanted to help Armonía become the best it could be in the name of his dead brother.
Upon overhearing the Coup d'etat planned by the Sun and Moon, Destruction goes into hiding. The Sun and Moon believe Chaos to be a tyrant, a power-hungry Overlord of Armonía, and banish him in an effort to restore order.
Chaos is merely a misunderstood, grieving man with no mindset to rule Armonía.
He only wished for the best for his homeland but lacked the ability to act on it. Unfortunately, his actions were perceived as those of a cruel and strict tyrant. In his banishment, Chaos finally has the time and peace to grieve for his brother properly. Through accepting Kosmos' sacrifice and the love he had for him, Chaos inadvertently creates Darkness. With the help of Nix, Chaos frees Darkness from the Void realm and introduces him to his sisters.
His sister, with the misconception and prejudice of Chaos, believes Darkness to be another Chaos. With the bit of sibling love they had for him, they left him alone. They did not banish him like Chaos. Instead, they merely neglected and ignored him. Even the people of Armonía shun him, for he carries the cold aura of Darkness and shadows around him, and while his sisters had power over life, he had power over death and souls. Chaos, on the other hand, treats Darkness like a son, showering him with the love and attention he deserves.
Interestingly enough, both Armonía and the Sun and Moon who rule it were born of destruction, and only Darkness was born of love and acceptance even though Armonía, Sun, and Moon were all showered in love. Darkness was neglected, ignored, and hated. Once banished, Chaos now has to live in the very world he destroyed due to his anguish. In isolated solitude, he is to be reminded of his brother, now dead because of his sacrifice.

Cultural Reception

No one wants to hear that Armonía was created through death. No one even knows that it was created out of manipulated death and destruction. No one wants to believe that the Sun and Moon that rule them so graciously were born out of destruction. People refuse to believe that Darkness, with his control of the darkness and the souls, was born out of love. Instead, the winners, Sun and Moon, have turned the story against Chaos, forgetting the truth that was.
