Court of Stone
General Summary
The Wayfinders find themselves resolving assault and kidnapping charges in a court of earth elementals. Simple creatures without any understanding of law, the party convinces them to 'pay damages' by handing over Cassandre Avon 's military insignia while disguised as made of ruby. A squirrel lawyers assists in the litigation.
Venturing towards Starset Lake while looking for Solsera caused the party to be hunted by wilderness beasts for several days until the trail for Safina 's mentor drew to a close. A deviation from the Starset path showed a member of the Order of the Sun scouting out.
The party split. Elara Dwin'annia and Safina caught up with Frederick, an Order monk who was scouting for Solsera. The scout provided limited information and hastily left when Elara arrived.
Meanwhile, Cassandre Avon and Gabriel Locktick lost sight of the party while investigating the tainted earth and establishing bearings to not get lost. They ran into Notte, a black cat who followed them back to the rejoined party where he was promptly blown up by accident through an alchemical offering by Gabe.
The party pressed on against rain and night towards the Dawnforges, where the scout claimed Solsera was currently at. Under the shroud of fading light and rain, the party was cornered and attacked by a pair of displacer beasts. A fierce battle began, including a connection between Elara's blessings and Cass' Sacred Weapon. Pushed back by the strength of the Wayfinders, both beasts retreated. One took Elara with it, knocking her out where, for a brief moment, she had a silent moment with Celestian, The Star Wanderer before being saved by Cass.
