Shadowspawn

Shadowspawn is the general term applied to any of the corrupted lifeforms originating from the Shadowfell.

The most common form of shadowspawn is the barely sentient parasitic goo colloquially known as "Shadow goop". This is the base form of all shadowspawn, and is the form they revert to upon death.

Shadowspawn often resemble amalgamations of creatures and materials from the Prime. Notably, they do not appear to be random and instead form into distinct species of shadowspawn.

The chimeric nature of shadowspawn has been exploited by the mad mage Nastasios, the Undying, to create even more grotesque creatures. His experiments have resulted in a variety of new species.
