Shadar-Kai
When reality tore open, and the rifts connected our world to the Shadowfell, some of the bravest of Elves, or some of the most foolish, wandered in to journey this new land. As they were exposed to the volatile arcane energies of this realm, their form began to change.
The Shadowfell proved to be a hostile land to these new inhabitants and some wished to return to the Prime realm. However, the Shadow is a greedy thing, and will not let go so easily.
In the Taranic language, Shadar-Kai translates to "lost people".
Like regular elves, Shadar-Kai may develop into Genasi when exposed to volatile elemental energies for a long time. However, due to the overwhelming presence of the Shadow, the Genasi take on the forms of combined Elements. These Genasi are sometimes referred to as Para-Genasi.
Water and Air create Frost Genasi.
Fire and Earth create Magma Genasi.
